Solution This guide will walk you through the process of programming a DS5000/ID digital voice recorder with WorkTypes. Worktypes are IDs, like an Author ID, used to classify recorded files. Olympus defines Worktype as a string, including a department name or the category name of a recorded file. This guide will walk you through the process of programming a DS5000/ID digital voice recorder with WorkTypes. Worktypes are IDs, like an Author ID, used to classify recorded files. Olympus defines Worktype as a string, including a department name or the category name of a recorded file. Illustrated screen shots have been included for your convenience.

STEP 1: Register your Worktypes
  1. To register a list, open the DSS Player Pro R5 module, go to [Tools] > [Options] > [Workflow] > [Worktype]. You will be directed to the Worktype List window.
  2. Click the [Add] button on the right.
  3. A Worktype Property window will appear, enter a worktype in the Worktype ID field, Click [OK]

  4. The worktype has now been registered and will appear in the Worktype List window. The buttons on the right will allow you to Modify, Add, Remove, Move Up or Move down the Worktypes.

STEP 2: Transfer the Worktype List to the device

Once the list of worktypes has been completed, you will need to transfer that list to the digital voice recorder. To do this:

  1. Open the DSS Player Pro R5 module, go to [Tools] > [Options] > [Device] > [Worktype List]. A list of registered worktypes will appear, you can choose with id are transferred to the device. You also have the option to prompt for author ID at Power-on. Click [Apply] > [OK]

  2. Connect the digital voice recorder via USB cable, select [Update]

  3. A confirmation dialog box will appear, click [OK]
