Cannot connect Olympus DS-4000, DS-3300, DS-2300 to PC
Solution When connecting the Olympus DS-4000, or other DS series digital voice recorder to your PC, via the cradle or directly via the USB cable, the PC may not detect the recorder as removable drive under My Computer. This results in the DSS Player Pro software not detecting the DS-4000 either. These problems can occur if network drives are being assigned to the first available drive letter after local volumes or CD-ROM drives. You can correct this issue by changing the Drive Letter and Path on your PC.
1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Manage.
2. Under Computer Management (Local), click Disk Management.
3. In the list of drives in the right pane, right-click the new drive which correspond to the DS-4000 and then click Change Drive Letter and Path(s).
4. Click Change, and in the drop-down box, select a drive letter for the new drive that is not assigned to a mapped network drive.
5. Click OK, and then click OK again.

Other problems connecting your Olympus DS Series Digital Voice Recorder to your PC could arise from some PCs and USB hubs not providing sufficient power. This can be solved by turning the USB charge "OFF" on your recorder.
1. Select "USB CHARGE" under the SUB MENU of your digital recorder and choose the "OFF" option to disable it.
