DSS PlayerPro Release 4 Configure options for automatic download, FTP, send and receive.

An FTP server is required for the transfer of dictation files. Access to an FTP server on the Internet would be ideal

Step1.
In Windows, go to Control Panel and double click on [Add/Remove Programs]. From the left-side menu of the control panel window that you have just opened, click on [Add/Remove Windows Components]. The following dialogue will be displayed. Select “Internet Information Services (IIS)” from the list, then click on the [Details] button to display the next dialogue.

Mark the checkbox to the left of “File Transfer Protocol (FTP) Server,” click the [OK] button, then complete the component installation.

Step2.
When the component installation is completed, double click on [Administrative Tools] in Control Panels. From the list of tools displayed, double click on [Internet Services Manager].

Expand the tree in the left-side pane by clicking on the [+] button, then click on “Default FTP Site.” Click the Properties button on the toolbar.

Step3.
When the following “Default FTP Site Properties” window is displayed, click on the [Home Directory] tab. Check on “Write” in the “FTP Site Directory” settings section, then click the [OK] button to finish the setup process.

Configuring the DSS Player options

Configure options for automatic download, FTP, send and receive as described below.

Step1.
Start the Dictation Module, then select “Options” from the “Tools” menu. On the [General] tab, enable “Auto-Send/Receive”.

Step2.
Switch to the [Download] tab, then enable “Auto-Download”.

Step3.
Switch to the [E-mail/FTP] tab, then press the [Settings] button under the FTP setting section, and display the “FTP Setting” dialogue.

First press the [Add] button, enter a profile name, then press the [OK] button. Next, enter your PC’s computer name in the “FTP Server” field. If you don’t know your PC’s computer name, double click on [System] in Control Panels to display the “System Properties” dialogue, switch to the [Network Identification] tab, then press the [Properties] button. Use the computer name that is displayed.

For “User ID” and “Password,” use the user ID and password you used to login to the PC with.

For “Audio files folder” and “Document files folder,” click the button on the right to specify the folder for the audio files and received documents. Select the root directory for both fields. Click the [OK] button to close the “FTP Setting” dialogue.

Step4.
Switch to the [Send] tab, check on “Enable auto-sending function”, then check on “Folder A” on the tree. Press the [FTP]
button, select the FTP profile created on the [E-mail/FTP] tab, then press the [OK] button.

Step5.
Switch to the [Receive] tab, check on “Use collect back documents functions” and “Enable FTP”, then press the [FTP] button. Press the [From] button, select the FTP profile created on the [Email/FTP] tab, then press the [OK] button.

Step6.
Exit the Dictation Module, then start and configure the
Transcription Module. Select “Options” from the “Tools” menu. On the [General] tab, enable “New Dictation notification,” and check on both “Sound” and “Pop-up.” By default, no sound is set, so press the button to the right of the (STOP) button to select a sound file.
